Spain's Health Ministry announced a second confirmed hantavirus case among Spanish passengers from the MV Hondius cruise ship outbreak. The case was identified through routine PCR testing in a close contact of the initial patient and posed no increased risk to the general population, as the individual was already under medical supervision at Gómez Ulla Central Defence Hospital in Madrid. Twelve additional evacuees remain in quarantine following established international isolation protocols lasting 42 days. The outbreak was detected aboard the cruise vessel, prompting evacuation and medical quarantine procedures.
